Released in 1945, the Datejust is Rolex’s longest standing collection and was created to commemorate the company's 40th anniversary. Unlike other Rolex watches, the Datejust was not designed for a specific activity or environment and simply exists as a smart, reliable timepiece. Pioneering for its time, the Datejust was the first self-winding watch to feature a date display window and also the first Rolex watch to use the Jubilee bracelet design. Combined with the tried and true Oyster case, the Datejust is both understated and elegant and looks at home in both casual and formal settings. The watch is also available in a variety of dial designs, case sizes and metals making it the most versatile series in the Rolex collection.
